KZN Aids study gets R38m injection

THE South African quest to find a cure for HIV/Aids has received a shot in the arm after Professor Thumbi Ndung’u, a scientist at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), was awarded a R38-million grant for his research project. Ndung’u received the funding from Gilead Sciences at a ceremony in Foster City, California, recently.
