SANTHE enjoyed its fourth consecutive, highly successful, Annual Consortium Meeting at the InterContinental Nairobi Hotel in Kenya from the 3rd to the 5th of October this year. Over 150 guests from collaborating sites worldwide attended the three-day meeting to participate in a scientific and social programme which included project updates, student oral and poster presentations, interactive sessions, an unforgettable networking opportunity in the form of a poolside gala dinner, and esteemed guest speakers: Philip Goulder, SANTHE Supervisor and Professor of Immunology, University of Oxford; Henry Mwandumba, Deputy Director, Malawi-Liverpool-Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Programme (MLW); and keynote speaker, Isaac Shongwe, Founder and Chairman of Letsema Holdings. Shongwe inspired junior to senior scientists alike with his talk on "What it takes to be an effective leader in Africa."
Adding further value to the meeting, a Communications and Public Engagement workshop was held on the day before for a group of over 100 SANTHE trainees and supervisors. Access a video of this training HERE.
