Motswedi Anderson, SANTHE Post-doctoral trainee based at the Botswana Harvard AIDS Institute Partnership (BHP) in Gaborone, today returned home after attending the 13th Symposium INTEREST conference in Accra, Ghana, to present a poster on her abstract, “Incident HBV Infection in an HIV-1C Treatment Naïve Longitudinal Cohort in Botswana.”

“This gave me an excellent opportunity to present my work to a wider audience and to gain from the comments and insights from experts in the field,” she said. “It will help me shape my project which is still at a rudimentary stage. I also learned a great deal about current research activities on HIV and HBV co-infections - my current research field.”

Anderson said her attendance at the conference was going to help her generate future research questions as she becomes more independent as a researcher. It also gave her a chance to network, opening new opportunities for further training and collaboration.
