Leslie Kenou is a Cameroonian intern at the Centre International de Référence “Chantal Biya” for Research on HIV/AIDS (CIRCB) in Yaoundé, where she works on a project characterising HIV cellular reservoir in vertically infected adolescents as part of the EDCTP AVIR study. Her research focuses on understanding how cellular reservoirs behave in adolescents receiving antiretroviral therapy.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and has basic training in biological analysis techniques. Her broader research interests include HIV, particularly the genetic diversity of the HIV-1 CRF02_AG envelope gene among individuals with chronic infections in Cameroon, with relevance to vaccine development.

She is interested in HIV vaccine research and the global challenge of developing a safe, affordable, and effective HIV-1 vaccine.of our time.
