Delories Sikuku

Delories Sikuku was born and raised in Kenya, and is working on the complexities of infectious diseases, with a particular focus on HIV. Her earlier research examined the metabolic behaviour of natural killer cells and dendritic cells in the context of HIV pathogenesis. Her current work focuses on the impact of the female genital tract microbiome and inflammation on HIV-1 infection. She investigates how these factors influence transmitted HIV-1 strain characteristics, host metabolic profiles, and viral persistence within reservoirs.

Drawing on multidisciplinary training, she aims to identify novel strategies for preventing HIV transmission and improving outcomes for people living with HIV. Her work is driven by a commitment to advancing global health and contributing to long-term solutions toward reducing the burden of HIV/AIDS.
