Ernest Oduro-Kwateng is a PhD student at the HIV Pathogenesis Programme (HPP), University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. His research focuses on computational bioinformatics, natural product-based therapeutics and the molecular mechanisms of HIV pathogenesis.

He integrates systems pharmacology, molecular modelling and experimental approaches to study host–pathogen interactions and support the development of HIV cure-oriented interventions. His interests include computational drug discovery, HIV latency, immunomodulation, antiviral natural products and nano delivery systems. He has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications in these areas. He is committed to advancing affordable, locally relevant therapeutics and vaccines for sub-Saharan Africa through African-led innovation in infectious diseases.

SANTHE is an Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) flagship programme funded by the Science for Africa Foundation through the DELTAS Africa programme; the Gates Foundation; Gilead Sciences Inc.; and the Ragon Institute of Mass General, MIT, and Harvard.
