Magdalene Ameka is an immunologist specialising in sexually transmitted infections (STIs), with a research focus on how metabolic processes and their byproducts influence immune function and STI pathogenesis. She is also interested in the interaction between chronic STIs and non-communicable diseases, particularly cardio-metabolic conditions. She aims to build a career in vaccine and therapeutic development within mucosal environments and is committed to applying her research to address key medical challenges. She is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of scientists within the African biosphere.
