Virology Education|Academic Medical Education 2nd InternationalWorkshop on Long-Acting Anti-Infectives

The 2nd International Workshop on Long-Acting Anti-Infectives (LAAI) is a forum advancing the development, implementation, and scale-up of long-acting and extended-release (LA/ER) anti-infective therapies.

This year’s programme will examine the evolving landscape of HIV prevention and treatment, while broadening discussions to tuberculosis, malaria, hepatitis, and non-TB mycobacterial diseases. Sessions will explore innovative delivery platforms, behavioral and adherence strategies, drug resistance, and implementation challenges across diverse populations.

Through interactive talks, panel discussions, and debates, participants will engage with the latest scientific and programmatic insights shaping the next generation of long-acting therapies. By fostering collaboration among academia, industry, and global health partners, LAAI aims to drive innovation that improves access, adherence, and long-term outcomes across infectious diseases.

SANTHE is an Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) flagship programme funded by the Science for Africa Foundation through the DELTAS Africa programme; the Gates Foundation; Gilead Sciences Inc.; and the Ragon Institute of Mass General, MIT, and Harvard.
