Jupiter Marina Kabahita

Jupiter Marina Kabahita is based in Uganda with a background in bioinformatics and laboratory science. She has contributed to genomic research on infectious diseases through roles at the Uganda Central Public Health Laboratory and the WHO Supranational TB Reference Laboratory. Her experience spans both wet-laboratory and computational approaches, with a strong interest in integrating genomic tools into routine clinical and public health practice.

Her research focuses on predicting adverse drug reactions in patients receiving tuberculosis preventive treatment. She uses an integrated pharmacogenomics approach combined with pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modelling to identify genetic and clinical factors associated with drug toxicity and variability in treatment response in a Ugandan cohort.

Her work aims to support the development of safer and more personalised TB preventive therapies, contributing to the advancement of precision medicine in resource-limited settings.
