Meya Muwowo is a laboratory scientist and Biorepository Manager at the Centre for Family Health Research in Zambia (CFHRZ), Lusaka. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the Copperbelt University in Zambia, Kitwe.

At CFHRZ, she has supported multiple HIV, TB, and other STI-related research projects, including serving as the lead laboratory scientist for the Global Relevant AIDS Vaccine Europe-Africa Trials (GREAT) partnership clinical trial. She has also contributed to several International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) studies, including the multi-site observational study on adolescent girls and young women for future HIV vaccines and antibody-based prevention (MAGY).

Her current research focuses on understanding determinants influencing the uptake of HIV, STI, and family planning services among adolescent girls and young women in Zambia. Through her laboratory expertise and commitment to public health, she aims to translate research findings into practical strategies for disease prevention, control, and improved healthcare delivery in communities.

SANTHE is a pan-African consortium, with the Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) serving as the operational site lead and funded by the Science for Africa Foundation through the DELTAS Africa programme; the Gates Foundation; Gilead Sciences Inc.; Aidsfonds; and the Ragon Institute of Mass General, MIT, and Harvard.
