Udayshia Vencatasu is the Research Grants Officer at AHRI. She manages a range of grant portfolios including all awards and grants belonging to SANTHE. She has a Master’s degree in Microbiology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa. Her research focused on the screening, purification and elucidation of anti-HIV compounds from endophytic fungi isolated from Zanthoxylem capense. Vencatasu has years of laboratory experience and is bridging the link between grants management and scientific research.

SANTHE is an Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) flagship programme funded by the Science for Africa Foundation through the DELTAS Africa programme; the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Gilead Sciences Inc.; and the Ragon Institute of Mass General, MIT, and Harvard.
