Zabrina Brumme is a Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at SFU, and the Laboratory Director at the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS (BCCfE). Her research programme integrates molecular biology, epidemiology and computational approaches to study HIV genetic diversity and evolution with the goal of informing HIV prevention and cure strategies.

SANTHE is an Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) flagship programme funded by the Science for Africa Foundation through the DELTAS Africa programme; the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Gilead Sciences Inc.; and the Ragon Institute of Mass General, MIT, and Harvard.
