Kavidha Reddy is a Research Associate at the Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) in Durban, South Africa. Her research focuses on the longitudinal characterisation of the HIV-1 subtype C reservoir, a key barrier to HIV cure strategies.

Her work addresses the limited understanding of HIV reservoir dynamics in African populations, particularly for subtype C, the most prevalent HIV-1 subtype globally and dominant in southern Africa. She investigates variability in the size, composition and genetic landscape of persistent reservoir genomes. Her research contributes to the development of therapeutic and cure strategies, as well as vaccine design, aimed at addressing long-term HIV persistence.

SANTHE is an Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) flagship programme funded by the Science for Africa Foundation through the DELTAS Africa programme; the Gates Foundation; Gilead Sciences Inc.; and the Ragon Institute of Mass General, MIT, and Harvard.
