Carole Stéphanie Sake Ngane

Carole Stéphanie Sake holds an MSc in Biochemistry and a PhD in Biochemistry. She has developed a research career focused on the immunology of viral infections, with a particular emphasis on HIV.
From 2011 to 2019, she worked on an HIV vaccine development project funded by the European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) at the Centre International de Référence “Chantal Biya” for Research on HIV/AIDS (CIRCB) in Cameroon. She also received a six-month fellowship from the Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) at the Armauer Hansen Research Institute in Ethiopia.
She is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science, University of Yaoundé 1 in Cameroon. Her research focuses on the immunology of infectious diseases, particularly immune activation, inflammation, and immune cell profiling in viral infections such as HIV, hepatitis B virus (HBV), and hepatitis C virus (HCV).
