Geoffrey Oino is a Study Clinician at the Kenya AIDS Vaccine Initiative (KAVI) Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) at the University of Nairobi in Kenya. Since joining KAVI ICR in 2010, he has been involved in several epidemiological studies and four HIV vaccine clinical trials. His work mainly involves clinical care of study volunteers and occasionally in outreach community activities. He is currently undertaking a Masters in Public Health and his project is Risk compensation with pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use among MSM (Men who have Sex with Men) in Nairobi. The main objective is to determine whether PrEP use among MSM may lead to neglect of traditional risk reduction practices through behavioral disinhibition or risk compensation.
