Seumko’o Ndeumou Medouen Reine

Seumko’o Ndeumou Medouen Reine has a background in immunology and infectious diseases. She holds a master’s degree in animal Physiology from the University of Yaoundé I, Yaoundé, Cameroon and developed expertise in malaria in pregnancy through training at the Immunology Laboratory of the Biotechnology Center (BTC). She is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Yaoundé I, focusing on host–pathogen interactions in both emerging diseases (HIV, malaria) and re-emerging diseases such as COVID-19.

She works as a Research Assistant at the Centre de Recherche en Maladies Émergentes et Réémergentes (CREMER)/Institut de Recherches Médicales et d’Études des Plantes Médicinales (IMPM), Yaoundé, Cameroon. Through an international collaboration between CREMER and the Antibody Immunity Research Unit (AIRU) at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), South Africa, she received training in SARS-CoV-2 neutralisation assays, strengthening her expertise in viral immunology and vaccine response studies.

She has authored several scientific publications and is committed to advancing research in immune response mechanisms and vaccine development to improve prevention and control of infectious diseases.
